Why not take Friday off work so you can get to Llandrindod Wells, during the afternoon and register early to avoid queuing, it will also give you an opportunity to take in the picturesque town or simply chill out and pamper in the health club?
It might be a good idea to maximise your weekend by staying overnight on the Sunday and take a more leisurely departure having had breakfast on Monday morning.
Rooms must be vacated by 10am on Monday.
Check-in begins at 2pm on the Friday and goes through into Saturday, allowing flexibility of check in times for people who are travelling a great distance. Just go along to the UFD desk in the Metropole Hotel and fill in a registration form, you can then collect your information pack and room key from the hotel’s reception desk.

(2) Arriving by Coach
Executive, coach transfer is an option for those who are staying for 3 nights and are travelling from east London. Places must be pre booked at a cost of £75 per person return. The first pickup/drop off point is Plaistow Underground Station, Plaistow Road, London E13 0AJ. You may board the coach from 6:15am; it then [must] leaves at 6:30am, stopping at Stratford East Picturehouse, Salway Road E15 1BX at 06:40am before continuing to Wales, arriving in Llandrindod Wells by 1pm. This should allow you sufficient time to check-in and relax before taking part in the classes and welcome workout. Or you may choose to enjoy the local area, have a massage, enjoy the facilities or just simply chill out & relax before going to dinner.
The return transfer will leave the hotel at 10:30am and is expected back at Plaistow by 5.30pm.
Please DO NOT pack your luggage in hard suit cases but instead use a single, soft ‘holdall’ type bag and/or suit carrier, this will allow all the baggage to fit comfortably into the hold. There is no need to stock up on groceries or water as there is ample shopping within easy walking distance from the hotels. However, you will need to supply your own water throughout the day.
The executive coach will have a UFD representative for your assistance, it will be equipped with CD & DVD player as well as having a toilet on board.
*Remember – coach places must be pre-booked and paid for in advance, please DO NOT just simply turn up as you will not get on!!
The stated transfer times are etched in stone!! It is unfair to keep others waiting which causes unnecessary delays leading to fellow travellers feeling very frustrated. Allow yourself plenty of time to get to the pickup point. Traffic delay is not a valid excuse for lateness, please allow for morning rush-hour traffic. I suggest you book your cab well in advance (the day before) - do not leave it to chance on the day!
(3) Arriving by Car/Rail
Located in the centre of Llandrindod Wells, The Metropole Hotel is easily accessible by Road. The A483 passes in front of the hotel. Their large car park is situated to the rear of the hotel.
If you are coming from the south the best route is over the second Severn Bridge and up the A449 then A40 to Abergavenny. This is all Motorway or Dual carriageway. It is about 45 miles to Llandrindod from Abergavenny.
From the east take the A44 from the M5
From the north take the M56 off the M6 then the A483
Llandrindod Wells train station is a short walk from the hotel and is linked by the Heart of Wales line to Swansea and Shrewsbury. Trains run about four times a day.
The Metropole is a 4* graded hotel with a health club, spa and swimming pool, which can be used by all guests of UFD. You may book to stay for either 1, 2 or 3 nights. Places are limited so an early booking is advised.
For those staying in the hotel, breakfast and dinner is included in your package
We would respectfully ask that you ‘dress’ for dinner in the appropriate theme especially on Saturday night. It looks a whole lot better when we all make an effort, when everyone is looking well turned out it gives you that extra special feeling! But whatever you do…..
PLEASE DO NOT arrive at dinner wearing sportswear or trainers on any night unless it forms part of the theme. Offenders may be asked to get changed before being allowed into the restaurant. However sportswear and trainers are acceptable at breakfast and lunch times.
All workshops/classes will take place in the Metropole Hotel and are managed on a first-come basis.
The array of workshops/classes will cater for as many different tastes and needs as possible. There will be workshops/classes for advanced, intermediate, improver and beginner levels. Different styles of salsa such as Cuban, cross body ON1 and other dances, for example bachata and cha cha cha, will be included. In addition, content will be varied to include partner work, ladies styling and specialties such as dips and tricks.
This weekender has attracted some of the UK’s top fitness and salsa teachers, which enables you to learn from the best. This will prove to be a real treat at any level.
You may attend as many workshops/classes as you please; some will treat it like a salsa and fitness marathon so make sure you drink plenty of water. Please do rise early so that so you can join the run/walk around the lake. Regarding the salsa workshops, you don't need a partner to attend; teachers are asked to rotate couples, just as you would find in a normal salsa class.
Both fitness and salsa classes will start and end simultaneously allowing you to pick and choose your classes.
(7) Other Activities
We have made arrangements with a local sports centre for anyone from our group wishing to use their facilities can simple turn up and do so. You can play badminton, basketball, etc, even rent a mountain bike for just a few pounds for the whole day – ask at the UFD desk for details.
(8) Parties and Show
Each night there will be a themed party. On some nights the parties may be separated into salsa and club vibes, however, you can move freely between these rooms. Shows will take place after dinner. You’ll see a mixture of dance and fitness acts or up and coming shows – a great way to get inspired!
After the show, come the parties – so whether you’re after hardcore salsa and mambo, Urban Latin and Afro Cuban vibes, Hip Hop, Reggae, Soca, R&B, Club Classics or mixed up party music then there’s a room for you! Friday & Sunday night parties starts at 10pm and should go beyond 2am – could be much later, depending on the vibes!! Because all the accommodation is in-house, you can be tucked up in bed within minutes of leaving the party!!
Friday – Medieval Court – Kings, Queens, Jesters, Maids, Knaves, Peasants
Saturday – Gala Black Tie Ball – Dress like ‘High Society’ Suits & Dresses
Sunday – Ripped Blue Denim, White & Shades - Old jeans, white shirts/tops & sunglasses

Please DO NOT remove your wristband even if the colour is not to your liking!! Not wearing a valid band may result in you having to pay for another one (full price) should it go missing?
(14) More to do…
Should you feel the urge to do something other than fitness or salsa, then why not enjoy a walk around the lake, which is just up the road from the hotels or a visit to the local spa and rock gardens where the town got its name? You could even get a ride to the Brecon Beacons and experience the breath taking scenery.
